About The Role
Our client, a reputable financial institution, is seeking a technically competent and proactive IT Officer to support the day-to-day management of the Bank's technology environment, with specific responsibility for BankOne Core Banking Application, digital banking platforms, IT infrastructure, information security, and end-user support.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support to ensure the availability, reliability, security, and effective operation of critical banking systems and technology infrastructure.
The ideal candidate must have practical experience working with BankOne Core Banking Application within a banking or regulated financial services environment, together with strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, digital banking channels, cybersecurity, and user support.
Key Responsibilities
1. BankOne Core Banking Application Support
- Provide day-to-day technical and operational support for the BankOne Core Banking Application (CBA).
- Monitor BankOne system availability, performance, and operational status.
- Manage user accounts, access rights, roles, permissions, and system privileges.
- Support system configurations, parameter updates, and approved system changes.
- Troubleshoot BankOne-related issues and escalate complex incidents where necessary.
- Liaise with BankOne support teams and relevant vendors for upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Conduct routine system health checks and maintain appropriate system documentation.
- Ensure proper adherence to access control, change management, and IT security procedures.
- Provide technical support for Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, USSD, POS, payment platforms, and other electronic banking channels.
- Monitor digital banking services and promptly identify and escalate service disruptions.
- Support troubleshooting of transaction and connectivity issues.
- Liaise with third-party technology providers on system integrations and technical issues.
- Monitor the availability and performance of customer-facing digital platforms.
- Support the implementation, testing, and maintenance of new digital technology solutions.
- Maintain and support servers, computers, networks, routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, and other IT equipment.
- Monitor network connectivity, system availability, and infrastructure performance.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware and software.
- Support Windows-based environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise applications.
- Maintain antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall, and other security solutions.
- Support regular backups and contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
- Provide first- and second-level technical support to employees.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, email, printer, network, connectivity, and system-related issues.
- Maintain an effective IT helpdesk and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
- Install and configure computers, applications, peripherals, and other user equipment.
- Support new employee onboarding by preparing IT equipment, user accounts, system access, and required applications.
- Provide basic user training and guidance on approved IT systems and applications.
- Implement and maintain IT security policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitor and escalate potential cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents.
- Ensure appropriate user access controls and protection of company information and systems.
- Support data confidentiality, integrity, and availability across IT systems.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation, security reviews, and IT risk management activities.
- Support internal, external, and regulatory IT audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable CBN requirements, data protection obligations, and internal IT policies.
- Liaise with IT vendors, software providers, internet service providers, BankOne support teams, and other technology partners.
- Monitor vendor performance against agreed service levels.
- Escalate and follow up on unresolved technical issues.
- Maintain records of software licences, warranties, maintenance agreements, and technology services.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of approved technology solutions.
- Prepare periodic IT operational and performance reports for the Head of IT.
- Maintain accurate IT asset registers and system documentation.
- Document system configurations, procedures, incidents, and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain records of IT support requests and resolution timelines.
- Escalate critical incidents, recurring issues, and technology risks promptly.
- Support the preparation of documentation required for audits, compliance reviews, and management reporting.
Performance will be measured by:
- Availability and reliability of BankOne and critical IT systems.
- Timely resolution of IT incidents and user support requests.
- Effective support of digital banking and electronic payment channels.
- Network and infrastructure uptime.
- Effective implementation of IT security controls.
- Timely completion of backups, system maintenance, and preventive IT activities.
- Compliance with IT policies, regulatory requirements, and audit controls.
- Accurate maintenance of IT assets and system documentation.
- Effective vendor coordination and issue resolution.
- User satisfaction with IT support services.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional IT experience.
- Previous experience in banking, microfinance banking, fintech, or another regulated financial services environment is required.
- Hands-on experience with BankOne Core Banking Application is mandatory.
- Practical experience supporting digital banking platforms and electronic payment channels.
- Experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, systems support, and end-user technical support.
- Good understanding of banking technology operations, IT controls, and information security.
