Role Summary
We are seeking passionate and experienced Male and Female Tech Trainers & Curriculum Developers to join our team in Lagos State.
In this role, you will serve as the engine of our school partnership initiative, stepping directly into partner school classrooms to deliver engaging, practical, and project-based lessons to primary and secondary school students. Beyond classroom instruction, you will act as a learning architect: designing structured lesson plans, building hands-on exercises, managing coding labs, and mentoring young learners through coding projects and competitions.
What Success Looks Like in This Position
- In the First 30 Days: You have onboarded into our curriculum framework, mastered our classroom delivery methodology, and successfully facilitated your first series of interactive coding/STEM sessions at partner schools.
- In the First 90 Days: Your students are actively building and debugging their own projects (e.g., games, websites, basic Python scripts). School administrators and parents report high engagement, and you have refined termly lesson plans based on classroom outcomes.
- In 6 Months & Beyond: You are driving measurable student success rates, producing showcase-ready student projects for school exhibitions, and contributing innovative modules to our core curriculum repository.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Training & Mentorship
- Deliver high-energy, interactive technical instruction at designated partner schools across Lagos, breaking down complex programming concepts into age-appropriate, digestible lessons.
- Mentor primary and secondary school students through hands-on coding exercises, logic puzzles, and real-world project builds.
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Track individual student progress and prepare termly evaluation reports and feedback for school administrations and parents.
Curriculum Development & Strategy
- Design and update structured learning paths, lesson plans, slide decks, and practical assessments tailored to primary and secondary grade levels.
- Develop engaging project briefs across various technical tracks (e.g., Scratch/Block Coding, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Python, App Development, AI basics, and Robotics/IoT).
- Collaborate with the academic lead to align curriculum deliverables with modern EdTech standards and emerging technology trends.
Qualifications
Must-Have Experience & Skills
- Teaching Experience: 2–3 years minimum experience teaching coding, programming, or bootcamp, or STEM training environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: Python, Web Development (HTML/CSS/JS), Scratch/Block Coding, Mobile App Development, or introductory AI/Robotics.
- Teaching / Facilitation: Proven track record of instructing or mentoring students (primary, secondary, or young adults) in a formal classroom, coding bootcamp, or STEM program.
- Curriculum Design: Ability to structure complex technical concepts into sequential, age-appropriate learning modules and activity guides.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences and young learners.
- Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel to assigned partner school locations within Lagos.
Nice-to-Have
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Familiarity with EdTech tools, learning management systems, or project-based learning methodologies.
