Head of Projects and Partnerships

Tuplant

Remote

Company Description Tuplant Technologies and Services Company Limited is an agribusiness driving sustainable food security in Nigeria — combining plant breeding and seed innovation, grain aggregation, and data-driven farmer support to strengthen how Nigeria grows, processes, and moves its food.

Role Description The Head of Projects & Partnerships leads Tuplant's growth and deal-making engine — the division responsible for turning the company's agricultural, technological, and research capabilities into large-scale, revenue-generating ventures, strategic partnerships, and financed infrastructure projects. This role sits at the intersection of business development, project execution, and stakeholder management, and is accountable for Tuplant's portfolio of externally-facing projects from origination through to operational performance.

This is a project-level executive oversight role. The Head of Projects & Partnerships is accountable for outcomes — financial performance, funder and partner standing, and portfolio health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or a related field is required.

• A Master's degree (MBA, MSc in Agricultural Economics, Development Finance, or related discipline) is preferred.

• Training or certification in investment appraisal, grant/donor project management, or PPP structuring is an advantage.

Key Skills required

• Strategic relationship management — able to build and sustain trust-based relationships with government officials, financiers, corporate executives, and research institutions simultaneously.

• Commercial and financial acumen — able to read cash-flow models, financing structures, and investment cases, and to negotiate terms that protect Tuplant's interests.

• Strong written and verbal communication — able to author formal proposals, government correspondence, and investor-facing documents to a high professional standard.

• Project governance discipline — able to define and maintain clear boundaries between delegated operational authority and escalated decision-making across a multi-project portfolio.

• Cross-functional coordination — able to work closely with technical, financial, and operational teams to keep projects deliverable and credible to external partners.

• Resilience and adaptability — able to manage a portfolio of projects at different stages of maturity (from cold outreach to full operations) without losing momentum on any one.

• Integrity and accountability — willing to be held responsible for project-level outcomes, including financial performance and stakeholder exposure, not just activity.

Experience required

• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in project management, business development, or strategic partnerships, with at least 1 year in a senior leadership capacity.

• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, capital-intensive projects (agriculture, agribusiness, infrastructure, or related sectors strongly preferred), ideally including projects valued in the hundreds of millions of naira or above.

• Track record of successfully securing and managing blended finance, grants, or development-finance partnerships (e.g. donor programmes, government development funds, DFI or bank financing pathways).

• Experience negotiating and managing relationships with government ministries, state agencies, or regulatory bodies in Nigeria, including land concession, licensing, or public-private partnership (PPP) processes.

• Experience structuring or overseeing commercial partnerships with financial institutions, insurers, or corporate partners (e.g. distribution agreements, referral/commission structures, technical integration partnerships).

• Prior experience in the agricultural value chain — seed systems, farm management, aggregation, or agritech — is a strong advantage given the technical nature of Tuplant's project portfolio.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including building out new functions within a growing organization.
