Job Description
- The Backend Developer will be responsible for building, integrating, and maintaining secure and reliable backend systems and APIs.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java and Spring Boot, database management, API development, and transaction-based systems, with exposure to fintech or payment solutions being an advantage.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Build and integrate APIs while working with relational databases, JPA/Hibernate, authentication, authorization, and secure API practices.
- Develop and maintain reliable transaction processing systems, including handling failed transactions, reversals, duplicates, settlement, reconciliation, and transaction integrity.
- Write, test, debug, and maintain production-ready code while supporting system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with the CTO, MD, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable backend solutions.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree with 4 – 5 years of backend development experience, with strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, SQL / relational databases, JPA / Hibernate, Git, authentication / authorization, testing, error handling, and transaction management.
- Experience with Node.js / TypeScript, Python, C# / .NET, or equivalent backend technologies is an advantage.
- Good understanding of payment flows, transaction processing, API security, webhooks, and secure software development.
- Experience with Docker, CI / CD, or cloud platforms is an advantage, with strong debugging and production support skills.
- Work on technology solutions within the growing fintech and payments space.
- Build and maintain backend systems that support secure and reliable financial transactions.
- Collaborate closely with the CTO, MD, and cross-functional teams.
- Gain exposure to payment flows, transaction processing, settlement, and reconciliation.
Salary
N500,000 - N550,000 monthly
