Job Objective
To ensure strategic and value-adding security services, including developing procedures/policies to ensure adequate asset protection, security of employees, customers, and assets of the organization, prompt security action on energy theft and loss reduction initiatives, and also to ensure the safety of company personnel/internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take proactive measures to protect company facilities and staff against External and Environmental Threats.
- Plan, develop, and manage security strategy for the company/ Handles business continuity planning and strategic security management.
- Develop the company security plan, operational procedures, and security manual.- This will state, in very clear terms, security and safety standards and practices in our place of work. including Personal Safety, Visitor processing, Access Control, Emergency Response/Procedures, etc.
- Play a leadership role in developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with security policies, procedures, and best practices, collaboration on security within the entire industry.
- Conduct periodic and regular security audits, make appropriate recommendations, and follow up on all action plans.
- Eliminate incidents of security breaches in the workplace and homes to enable a safer and more productive work life.
- Handle executive security detail and security support for internal and external stakeholders.
- Protect staff, property, and tangible assets from loss, destruction, theft, alteration,n or unauthorized access/ ensure company secure areas are protected by appropriate entry controls, including metal detectors, to ensure that only authorized personnel are granted access.
- Develop service level agreements with relevant service providers in collaboration with the legal counsel.
- Review patrol activity via reports received from the Security Agents to ensure adequate coverage and scheduling.
- Keep a log of all activities and write reports concerning significant security activities within the Company.
- Oversee ongoing training of all guards on security procedures and operations.
- Conduct inspections of all security posts within the corporate head office and district offices to ensure performance of assigned tasks.
- Create awareness & train all employees on security issues, including weekly/monthly/quarterly security enlightenment bulletins and/or updates to staff and management.
- Receive and report to management non-criminal and criminal complaints.
- Institute an emergency response procedure to quickly address emergency security and safety situations.
- Investigate theft and vandalism cases which could be attributed to lapses in security arrangements and forward a report for correction/improvement accordingly.
- Carry out appraisal of security beats in the field locations and advise management where necessary for improvement.
- Coordinate the MIS database, including overall budgeting.
- HND/BSc. in any related discipline; MBA/Master in a related discipline is an advantage.
- Relevant professional security certification.
- Minimum of 14 years of cognate experience in any of the armed forces/police force not below the rank of Captain or its equivalent, out of which 5 years in a corporate environment & senior management role.
- Percentage Completeness, thoroughness, and accuracy of incident reports (i.e investigative reports) within agreed TAT of security incidents – 100%
- Timeliness of response to security issues, i.e., agreed TAT to all security issues within the corporate head office & district locations. – 100%
- Percentage Level of compliance with internal security policies and procedures – 100%
- Percentage of employees' awareness of internal security procedures and security alerts – 80%
- Timeliness of response (agreed TAT with external security/law enforcement agents) to calls for security back-ups during cash drives/breakdown in law, etc. – 95%.
- Quality of Service/ User satisfaction provided by the security department – 80%
- Percentage rate of occurrence of security-related issues (i.e., theft, burglary, vandalism) within the corporate head office and district offices.
- Percentage compliance by staff in using assigned company ID card – 100%
- Percentage cost optimization on departmental budget – 90%
