The Granulation / Roller Compactor / Blending Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining granulation, roller compaction, and blending equipment in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure the production of high-quality pharmaceutical products. The role involves adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate granulation, roller compactor, and blending machines efficiently in accordance with approved SOPs and batch manufacturing records (BMR).
  • Perform dry and wet granulation processes as per product requirements.
  • Ensure accurate weighing, dispensing, and mixing of raw materials.
  • Set up machines, adjust parameters, and monitor production processes to achieve desired output and quality.
  • Conduct in-process checks and record all relevant production data accurately.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, line clearance, and changeover activities before and after production.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunction, deviations, or abnormalities promptly.
  • Maintain proper documentation in line with GMP and regulatory standards.
  • Follow all safety, health, and environmental (HSE) guidelines during operations.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams during validation and inspection processes.
  • Ensure minimal material wastage and optimize machine performance.
  • Participate in training, audits (internal/external), and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, preferably in solid dosage production.
  • Strong knowledge of granulation, blending, and roller compaction processes.
  • Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NAFDAC standards).
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot pharmaceutical production machinery.
  • Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge is an added advantage.
