ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Utility Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficiency of utility assets across the manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for coordinating planned and scheduled maintenance activities, optimizing asset performance, managing maintenance budgets, and driving continuous improvement initiatives through effective use of SAP PM and asset management processes.


You will lead technical teams, support operational excellence, and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure utility systems consistently support production, quality, and business objectives.


IS THIS YOU?

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Engineering; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Utilities or similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and execution processes.
  • Proficient in SAP EAM/PM systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost management, and maintenance cost optimization initiatives
  • Good understanding of manufacturing methodologies and plant maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of Health, Quality, Safety, and Environmental (HQSE) standards and requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in maintenance project execution and continuous improvement initiatives is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications in Maintenance, Reliability, or Project Management will be an added advantage.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the execution of planned and scheduled maintenance activities for utility equipment while optimizing costs.
  • Plan, monitor, and control maintenance requirements, budgets, and associated costs.
  • Lead and develop technical personnel to improve maintenance knowledge and capability on utility equipment.
  • Organize and coordinate annual overhauls of utility systems and facilities in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Improve asset reliability through preventive maintenance programs and reduction of equipment breakdowns.
  • Support the preparation and management of annual maintenance budgets and operational plans.
  • Monitor spare parts and maintenance material availability to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Drive effective use of BPMS routines to continuously improve asset management performance
  • Ensure utility systems consistently support product and packaging quality requirements.
  • Monitor and control utility cost drivers while identifying efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Implement performance management processes that drive accountability and team effectiveness.
  • Support maintenance improvement projects and other assignments that enhance maintenance planning and execution effectiveness
