Group Chief Operating Officer will provide executive oversight across the Holding Company and its operating businesses, ensuring effective administration, operational coordination, compliance and business performance across the Group.
The role requires a strong administrator and commercially minded operator with the leadership capability and strategic potential to progress into a Chief Executive Officer role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight and coordination of the Group’s subsidiaries and operating businesses across oil & gas, construction, aviation fueling, laboratory and diagnostics.
- Translate the Group’s strategy into operational priorities, business plans, performance targets and execution plans.
- Strengthen administrative and operational systems, policies, processes and controls across the Group.
- Work closely with subsidiary heads and senior management to monitor business performance, resolve operational issues and ensure accountability.
- Establish and monitor Group-wide KPIs and management reporting systems to track operational and financial performance.
- Work closely with Finance to monitor budgets, costs, profitability, resource utilization and overall business performance.
- Ensure effective compliance with Group policies, regulatory requirements, internal controls and governance standards.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, administrative gaps and business risks and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Coordinate cross-subsidiary initiatives, strategic projects, process improvements and business transformation programs.
- Support the Group MD/CEO in strategic planning, executive decision-making, stakeholder management and implementation of key business initiatives.
- Prepare consolidated operational and management reports and provide recommendations to the Group MD/CEO and Board.
- Develop strong relationships with subsidiary leadership and build a culture of accountability, discipline, efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 12–18+ years of progressive experience, with significant exposure to administration, operations and business management.
- At least 5 years in a senior management or executive leadership position.
- Strong administrative and organizational management experience, preferably within a group, holding company or diversified business.
- Experience overseeing multiple business units, subsidiaries or corporate functions.
- Strong understanding of Finance, Operations, Compliance, governance and business performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior executives and translate strategy into execution.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding, including budgeting, cost management and performance monitoring.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong executive presence, business judgment and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated potential and ambition to progress into a Chief Executive Officer/Group CEO role.
