Customer Success Manager (New Markets: Madagascar & Mozambique)
Okra Solar

Okra Overview
At Okra Solar, we’re on a mission to bring Power to the People by unlocking opportunities through energy access for everyone in the world.
Over 650 million people still live without electricity. At a time where technology such as mobile devices, productive agritech and AI are becoming more accessible than ever, we believe that access to energy is the first step toward opportunity and growth.
That’s why we build our Mesh Grid technology that energizes off-grid households at a fraction of the cost of the other solutions. We build the hardware and software, that we sell to local energy companies who deploy our tech to deliver affordable, reliable electricity as a service last-mile communities.
We have our first mesh-grid pilots sold in Madagascar and Mozambique — around 2,500 connections now moving from signed deals into deployment. We're looking for a Customer Success Manager to make these pilots succeed.
This is a delivery-focused role. You will own the success of two developer-partner accounts across two countries: getting their projects deployed on the ground and ensuring they hit the KPIs that make the projects work (ARPU, uptime, opex, portfolio performance). You'll do this remotely from Nigeria, supported by frequent travel, working through our partners rather than running deployments yourself — so a big part of the job is enabling your partners to run great operations with the right focus.
This role will involve extensive travel to Mozambique and Madagascar.
If you're excited about using technology to create tangible impact in rural electrification, and you like turning a signed deal into a working, well-run project, join us.
Key Responsibilities
Drive project deployment
- Partner with two developer customers (one in Madagascar, one in Mozambique) to take their pilots from signed deal to fully deployed and energized.
- Keep deployments on track against agreed timelines, flag blockers early, and coordinate with Okra's product, support and operations teams to resolve them.
- Prepare and maintain project development materials (presentation decks, explainers, models), working independently once scope is agreed.
- Review assumptions, analyse historical performance data, and flag when a project's numbers seem off, providing initial analysis and recommendations
Own KPI performance
- Onboard partners onto the Okra Harvest software platform and make sure they can use it confidently.
- Track the KPIs that make projects viable (ARPU, opex, uptime, delinquency, portfolio performance) and translate them into a small set of clear actions for each partner.
- Run regular check-ins and business reviews; coach partners on the specific metrics and actions that move their numbers — keeping them focused rather than overwhelmed by data.
Enable and support partners
- Build strong working relationships with partner field-ops, technical and management teams.
- Be the first point of contact for your accounts; triage issues and escalate to support, product or engineering when needed.
- Feed learnings from the ground back into Okra's playbooks, product and processes.
Issue Tracking & Product Feedback
- Translate customer pain into product improvements: Translate customer pain into actionable product feedback: document issues, gather context, and escalate through the appropriate channels.
Required Experience
- 2–4 years' work experience, ideally in the energy sector (off-grid / rural electrification a strong plus).
- Fluent English and French. — essential for working across Madagascar (Francophone) and if you have portuguese language experience, thats a plus!
- Some experience of, or exposure to, working in or with African markets.
- Project management or delivery experience; comfortable being accountable for outcomes and KPIs.
- Willingness to travel to Madagascar and Mozambique as needed.
Hard Skills
- Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs, Drive) and comfort working with data in spreadsheets.
- High digital literacy — ideally Airtable, Confluence/Notion, Slack, and AI tools (Claude / ChatGPT) for research and documentation.
- Comfortable learning a monitoring/operations platform (Okra Harvest) and using it to drive decisions.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication across cultures and with non-technical, field-based teams.
- Ownership and follow-through — turns a signed deal into a delivered, well-performing project.
- Builder mindset — doesn't just log problems, proposes and drives solutions.
- Balanced drive, transparency, integrity and a collaborative spirit.
