Compensation

Salary: ₦150,000 – ₦200,000 monthly

Transport Allowance: ₦100,000 monthly

Plus: Monthly performance-based commission


Role Purpose

The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth, product distribution, outlet coverage, customer development, and execution of the company’s portfolio within assigned territories across Lagos.


Key Responsibilities

- Achieve assigned monthly sales volume and/or value targets.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and other relevant trade customers.

- Drive numeric distribution and ensure product availability across assigned territories.

- Prospect for and open new outlets and customer accounts.

- Conduct regular outlet calls in accordance with approved routes and call schedules.

- Ensure effective product visibility, merchandising, and execution of agreed Minimum Execution Standards (MES).

- Monitor customer stock levels and support timely replenishment.

- Capture accurate outlet, sales, and market information using the company’s Sales Force Automation (SFA) platform.

- Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, activities, and new product introductions.

- Provide timely and relevant market intelligence.

- Ensure proper execution of approved trade promotions and visibility initiatives.

- Maintain accurate records of daily calls, orders, new outlets, and other field activities.

- Provide regular performance reports to the Line Manager.

- Support collections and customer account management where applicable.


Requirements

- Minimum of OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

- 1–3 years of relevant field sales experience.

- Previous experience within FMCG, alcoholic beverages, beverages, tobacco, or another route-to-market intensive consumer business is preferred.

- Good understanding of the Lagos retail and/or hospitality trade environment.

- Demonstrable selling, prospecting, negotiation, and closing ability.

- Experience working with monthly sales targets and performance incentives.

- Ability and willingness to spend significant time working in the field.

- Ability to use smartphones and sales/SFA applications for field reporting.

- Numerical competence and ability to understand targets, achievement percentages, and basic sales metrics.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Self-motivation, resilience, discipline, and a strong results orientation.

- Residence within, or easy accessibility to, the Lagos trade territory the candidate would be assigned to is strongly preferred, given the field-based nature of the role.

- Prior knowledge of relevant trade outlets - including retailers, wholesalers, wine and spirit stores, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, bars, and lounges - within the candidate’s likely territory of operation will be an advantage.
