The Bridge Project seeks to give every baby in the US a fair shot in life. Launched in June 2021 by The Monarch Foundation, it is New York’s first consistent, unconditional cash transfer program. The Bridge Project (TBP), a 501(c)3 organization, supports healthy development for babies during their first 1,000 days of life by providing their mothers with consistent, unconditional cash on a biweekly basis for three years.
The Bridge Project is currently serving more than 3000 babies and their mothers
in several states including NY, Wisconsin, Connecticut, West-Virgina, Ohio,
Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Nebraska. In 2026, TBP is extending to
other states naming Texas, Portland and Arkansas. The Bridge Project is based on the belief that an investment in young babies has the potential to separate a
whole generation from the toxic stresses of poverty during a crucial period of
emotional and mental development, break intergenerational cycles of trauma,
and allow future generations to grow into happy, healthy adults.
We are on our way to solving child poverty, and we are doing it with dignity, trust,
and cash. The Bridge Project has been profiled in The New York Times, CBS, NY1-
Spectrum News, Bloomberg, Live with Kelly and Ryan, and MarketWatch, among
others. The Bridge Project was additionally one of Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas of 2022.
Job Summary
The Per Diem Quantitative Data Analyst will be a key member of the research
team and will contribute to quantitative and mixed-method research initiatives
across the organization. Under the supervision of the Research Director, the
analyst will collaborate closely with Bridge team members and research partners.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with quantitative data and a strong interest in applying their skills to advance research in child poverty, maternal health, and child well-being. The successful candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with survey and administrative datasets. The candidate will also demonstrate a strong ability to ensure data accuracy and quality, while adhering to methodological protocols and ethical requirements.
- Position Description Essential Functions
- Plan and conduct quantitative data analyses, from analytic design through reporting.
- Manage and analyze survey and administrative datasets.
- Conduct data cleaning, coding, quality control, and statistical analyses.
- Contribute to sample size calculations and analytic planning.
- Develop and maintain data documentation, including codebooks and data dictionaries.
- Prepare reports, data summaries, and research briefs.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation and research dissemination efforts.
Collaborate with Qualitative team for a mixed-method approach.
Perform other duties as requested.
Expected Skills
- Mastery of quantitative research methods.
- Experience in analyzing data and reporting findings related to unconditional cash and maternal and child health.
- Excellent writing skills for lay and scientific audience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, R, and Qualtrics is required.
- Proficiency with SAS, Stata, and Arc-GIS is a must.
- Track record of at least one published report related to cash/ maternal and child health.
- Track record of causal inference analyses.
- Knowledge of complex quantitative research methods and statistical techniques is required.
- Experience working with administrative data is required.
- Exposure to qualitative methods is a must.
- Knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts and practices in the field of maternal health, child health, and well-being, cash allowances are a must.
- Knowledge of ethical requirements and limitations in using creative and generative AI in the research scope is required.Required qualifications
- At least master’s degree in public health (biostatistics), statistics, economics, health economics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience as a data analyst.
- Strong attention to detail.
