Job Title: Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (with regional oversight as required)

Reporting To: Sales Director / Managing Director

Department: Technology & Secure Solutions

Job Purpose

The Electronic Security Manager is responsible for planning, designing, scheduling, and

controlling all electronic security technology activities to meet the strategic objectives of G4S

Nigeria and its diverse corporate, industrial, and diplomatic clients.

The role combines technical expertise, project management, and commercial acumen to deploy

and maintain cutting-edge security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Alarms, and Fire

Systems) while managing engineering teams and vendor SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Technology Leadership
Drive Technology Strategy: Develop, implement, and manage the G4S Nigeria

Electronic Security Systems policy and roadmap in alignment with regional and global

group standards.

Market Trends & Innovation: Continuously benchmark local offerings against

international security trends, introducing innovative hardware/software solutions to the

Nigerian market.

Budgetary Control: Prepare, submit, and manage the annual hardware, software, and

departmental technology budgets. Analyze monthly financial variances and optimize cost

efficiency.

Project Management & Solution Design
System Design: Oversee the technical design, configuration, and engineering drawings

for scalable electronic security solutions (specifically for high-rise commercial offices,

residential estates, financial hubs, and transit facilities).

Project Delivery: Actively manage a portfolio of active installations, ensuring projects

are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

Quality Assurance: Guarantee the technical quality of all project deliverables while

proactively managing risks associated with system integration.

Operations & Maintenance Management
SLA & Vendor Management: Draft, implement, and monitor Service Level Agreements

(SLAs) with technology providers, OEMs, and local outsource partners.

Control Room & Core Infrastructure: Oversee the technical operational efficiency of

the G4S Monitoring and Response Center (Control Room), ensuring seamless

functionality of panic alarms, fleet tracking, and client CCTV feeds.

Disaster Recovery: Establish and maintain robust IT data security principles, backup

systems, and a functional business continuity plan for all electronic infrastructure.

Client Relations & Business Development
Technical Consulting: Support the sales team by attending high-level client meetings to

present technical proposals, perform security audits, and deliver risk assessments.

Customer Success: Act as the primary technical point of escalation for premium

corporate clients to resolve critical system failures or performance gaps.

Team Leadership & Governance
Line Management: Supervise, mentor, and allocate tasks to field technicians, control

room operators, and project engineers.

Training & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE)

standards on-site. Identify skills gaps in the technical team and organize routine OEM

certifications.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Percentage of projects delivered on time and within budget.
Client SLA compliance rate for system maintenance and error resolution.
Minimal system downtime within the G4S central monitoring infrastructure.
Departmental profitability and accurate alignment with the approved technical budget.

Qualifications And Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/Electronic

Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in Electronic Security

Systems, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role within Nigeria or West

Africa.

Technical Certifications: Professional certifications in world-class enterprise security

systems are highly preferred (e.g., Lenel, Gallagher, Milestone, Honeywell, Bosch, or

Cisco CCNA). Project Management certification (PMP or PRINCE2) is a strong

advantage.

Industry Portfolio: Proven track record of managing electronic security rollouts for

multi-site corporate environments, oil & gas facilities, or high-end residential estates.

Competencies & Technical Skills

Deep knowledge of IP networking, fiber optics, wireless transmission, and cybersecurity

integration for physical security.

Strong ability to read, interpret, and modify architectural blueprints, electrical schematics,

and CAD designs.

Exceptional negotiation, contract management, and vendor liaison skills.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to manage complex project stress and lead

technical teams under pressure.

Fluency in English (written and verbal) with excellent presentation and technical
