Job Overview
The Production Pharmacist at Jawa International Limited is responsible for overseeing and supervising manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), approved batch manufacturing records, and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on coordinating production activities, ensuring product quality and yield, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities to ensure adherence to approved batch manufacturing records and SOPs.
- Ensure all manufacturing operations comply with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and sign off on batch manufacturing and packaging records for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure targets are met without compromising product quality.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance/Quality Control to resolve in-process deviations and non-conformances.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and cleaning of production equipment in line with GMP standards.
- Supervise and train production staff on GMP, SOPs, and safe operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, yield reconciliations, and material usage documentation.
Education:
- Pharm degree; registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) is required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical production or manufacturing role, with sound knowledge of GMP requirements.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated production environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and production/ERP systems.
- Good communication, supervisory, and team-leadership skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability in production operations.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively under production deadlines.
- Strong commitment to GMP, safety, and quality compliance.
- Proactive in identifying process issues and implementing solutions.
