Field Engineer - Electrical

Our client, a leading power generator company headquartered in VI, Lagos, is seeking a qualified Field Engineer (Electrical).

The Field Engineer (Electrical) delivers electrical installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault-repair on our client's diesel and gas generator systems across three areas: the running generator FLEET, installation PROJECTS, and Service & Maintenance (S&M) contracts. Working in the workshop and on client sites, the role handles generator control and distribution panels, synchronisation and protection, and LV & MV power systems — keeping units reliable, safe and correctly commissioned to standard.

Responsibilities:

Fleet – Electrical Maintenance & Fault Repair:

· Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance across the generator fleet to maximise uptime.

· Diagnose and repair faults on control panels, AVRs, alternators/excitation, ATS/AMF, protection relays and battery/charging systems.

· Maintain accurate service records and fault reports for each unit.

Projects – Installation & Commissioning:

· Install and terminate generator control panels, cabling, distribution boards and changeover systems on project sites.

· Commission generators — set up controllers, synchronisation and load sharing, and perform load-bank/performance testing.

· Work from electrical drawings and single-line diagrams; support handover documentation.

· Attend client sites under service contracts for scheduled servicing and breakdown response.

· Troubleshoot electrical site issues quickly and safely, minimising client downtime.

· Advise clients and complete service checklists and reports.

· B.Eng in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering — a full engineering degree is required for this role.

· Minimum 5 years' relevant post-graduation experience in a relevant scope of work — diesel and gas generator electrical systems across fleet, projects and service.

· COREN / NSE registration (or working towards it) is an advantage.

· Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to sites
