High-level Overview
The client is seeking an embedded fractional Chief Financial Officer to build an investor-grade portfolio financial model, repeatable SPV framework and blended-capital readiness as it moves from pilot-scale delivery to multi-portfolio execution.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on CFO who has built financial systems and investor readiness in a growth-stage African energy business, and who can co-develop tools and transfer ownership to an internal finance team.

- Deliver an investor-ready portfolio financial model that captures integrated revenue streams, CAPEX/OPEX, FX and inflation sensitivities and multi-SPV cash flows.
- Build blended-capital strategy, investor materials, data-room readiness and reporting for due diligence.
- Refine SPV governance, documentation and repeatable financial-flow templates for future portfolios.
- Implement portfolio-level financial controls, monthly reporting tools and SOPs.
- Mentor the Head of Finance and Finance & Investment Analyst through live project delivery and structured handover.
Experience Required
- CFO or Finance Director experience in growth-stage African energy or infrastructure companies.
- Experience with blended capital, investor reporting and DFI/impact-investor due diligence.
- Hands-on finance-system building and staff mentoring.
- Multi-revenue-stream financial modelling, portfolio cash-flow consolidation and SPV frameworks.
- CAPEX/OPEX, FX and inflation sensitivity analysis.
- Data-room preparation, financial controls and reporting systems.
- Fluent English — essential.
- Practical co-builder, not an end-of-engagement handover consultant.
- Able to work across finance, projects and business-development teams.
A hands-on systems-building CFO with Nigerian energy context; functional evidence and knowledge transfer are decisive.
Working Arrangement
- Location: Nigeria, with periodic Abuja visits.
- Working model: Embedded fractional engagement; primarily remote is acceptable with periodic in-country milestones.
- Travel requirements: Periodic in-country visits for key milestones, investor engagements and team workshops.
- Required start date: December 2026
- Contracting period: 12–18 months
- Capacity allocation: Up to 150 days per placement, including up to 50 days on-site spread over three missions.
- Contracting exceptions / special requirements: TBC
