Job Summary

The Data Analytics & Systems Analyst is responsible for managing sustainability-related data, analytics, digital platforms, and reporting systems to support ESG management, climate reporting, decarbonisation programmes, and management systems across Dangote Refinery. The role ensures data accuracy, integrity, consistency, traceability, and audit readiness while providing timely insights and performance reporting to support business decision-making. The incumbent drives digitalisation and automation initiatives that improve data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting of sustainability performance indicators.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the refinery's sustainability strategy, roadmap, and improvement programmes.2. Coordinate implementation of sustainability objectives, Develop, maintain, and continuously improve centralized sustainability data management systems and repositories.
  • Establish processes for the collection, validation, storage, analysis, and reporting of sustainability data across the refinery.
  • Manage ESG, greenhouse gas emissions, energy, water, waste, environmental, and social performance datasets.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, traceability, version control, and compliance with data governance requirements.
  • Develop and implement sustainability data governance procedures, standards, and controls.
  • Support sustainability assurance, audit, and verification activities through effective data management and record keeping.
  • Administer sustainability reporting platforms, databases, and digital reporting systems.
  • Support sustainability reporting requirements under IFRS S1, IFRS S2, GRI Standards, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, CDP, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Develop automated reporting templates, data capture tools, and reporting workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate sustainability data submissions from business units and ensure the quality and completeness of disclosures.
  • Design and maintain sustainability dashboards, scorecards, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Develop sustainability KPIs, metrics, and analytical reports to support business decision-making.
  • Analyse sustainability performance data and identify trends, risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability performance reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Support the maintenance of the refinery's greenhouse gas inventory and carbon accounting systems.
  • Coordinate data collection, calculation, validation, and reporting of Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.18. Maintain emissions factors, calculation methodologies, data records, and supporting documentation for carbon reporting.
  • Drive digitalisation and automation initiatives to enhance sustainability reporting and performance management processes.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology teams to develop, implement, and maintain sustainability data solutions and system integrations.
  • Evaluate and support deployment of sustainability software, analytics platforms, and business intelligence tools.
  • Establish data quality assurance procedures and conduct routine validation, verification, and reconciliation of sustainability datasets.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain audit trails and supporting records.
  • Support monitoring and reporting requirements for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 management systems.
  • Provide sustainability data, analytics support, training, and user guidance to business functions while serving as the focal point for sustainability reporting requests and information requirements.

Key Requirements

Education and Work Experience

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in data science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Sustainability Management, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, information systems, sustainability reporting, ESG data management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with large datasets, databases, enterprise systems, reporting platforms, and business intelligence tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in sustainability data management, ESG reporting, greenhouse gas data management, or environmental performance reporting.
  • Experience within the refining, petrochemical, oil and gas, manufacturing, mining, cement, power, energy, or other heavy industrial sectors is desirable.
  • Proven experience developing dashboards, analytics tools, reporting models, automated reporting solutions, and performance monitoring systems.
    • Experience supporting audits, assurance reviews, regulatory reporting, and sustainability disclosure processes.

  • Strong capability to develop, manage, and continuously improve sustainability data management systems, ensuring data integrity, traceability, quality, and audit readiness across ESG, environmental, social, and climate-related datasets.
  • Ability to design, automate, and maintain sustainability reporting platforms, dashboards, and business intelligence tools that provide timely, accurate, and actionable performance insights for decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and data visualization skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, evaluate performance, and translate data into meaningful business intelligence and management information.
  • Ability to manage greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon accounting data systems, including emissions data collection, validation, reporting, verification, and support for climate-related disclosures and decarbonisation programmes.
  • Strong capability to establish and enforce data governance, quality assurance, and reporting controls that ensure compliance with internal standards, sustainability reporting frameworks, and assurance requirements.
  • Ability to drive digitalisation and process automation initiatives, integrating sustainability systems with enterprise platforms and leveraging emerging technologies to improve reporting efficiency and data management effectiveness.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to support multiple business functions, train end users, and facilitate the effective adoption of sustainability data systems, analytics tools, and reporting solutions across the organization.
