At Eni, we are looking for an Explorationist to join Nigerian Agip Exploration Ltd. in Abuja. You will be responsible for integrating geological, geophysical, and other available data to identify and mature prospects and leads, perform portfolio ranking and screening, and assess geological risks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Define the regional geological framework of sedimentary basins through the synthesis and integration of geological and geophysical information and data.
  • Identify, evaluate, and model the geological components that characterize hydrocarbon generation and accumulation processes, integrating findings from various specialized studies.
  • Represent the distribution of geological features through the development of geological maps and cross-sections.
  • Identify and characterize exploration plays for selection and technical ranking.
  • Consolidate exploration knowledge through scouting and monitoring activities to support the generation and selection of exploration opportunities.
  • Conduct integrated interpretation of seismic data, from the regional context to the prospect/target scale, to identify and characterize structural and/or stratigraphic traps.
  • Integrate the geological evaluation of seismic data with information derived from the analysis of key seismic attributes.
  • Integrate seismic and geological models with non-seismic geophysical data.
  • Define geophysical data acquisition objectives and recommend the execution of specialized studies.
  • Support established specialized studies.

Skills And Experience Required

  • BSc or MSc in Geology, Geophysics, or a related discipline.
  • Significant relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Drilling & Completion: Drilling activities. Exploration: Basin assessment and screening; geological data integration and interpretation; geophysical data interpretation; prospect generation and evaluation.
  • Geology: Basin geology; experimental petrophysics; geochemistry; petrography; petrophysics; reservoir characterisation; rock mechanics; sedimentology; stratigraphy; structural geology; well data acquisition and evaluation.
  • Geophysics: AVO and geophysical interpretation; cartography, topography and geodesy; depth imaging; seismic stratigraphy and reservoir seismics; velocity studies.
  • Global: Data management; E&P business management; economic evaluation; organisational processes; R&D; reserves management; risk analysis and management; tendering and contracting; workflows and best practices.
  • HSEQR: Integrated HSE processes and safety management.
  • Project Management: General project management. Reservoir: Reservoir modelling, well operations, and production optimisation.
  • Strong problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills.
