Job Summary

Provide operational support to the Tax function in ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance for DSR Apapa. The role is responsible for supporting the computation and filing of VAT and WHT returns, managing staff and directors’ tax-related matters, tracking WHT receivables, and providing accounting and financial support through bank reconciliation and Fixed Asset creation in SAP.

Job Roles (Duties & Responsibilities)

  • Compute monthly Value Added Tax (VAT) and Withholding Tax (WHT) liabilities and returns for DSR Apapa.
  • Prepare and ensure the timely and accurate filing of complete VAT and WHT returns in line with applicable tax regulations and statutory deadlines.
  • Post recovered WHT journals and maintain accurate records of WHT receivables from banks and other relevant parties using Tax Pro-Max confirmed entries and follow up with banks and other stakeholders on outstanding or unremitted amounts.
  • Support the Tax Officer in collating and validating tax-related data required for the preparation of monthly tax reports for Head Office.
  • Maintain and regularly update staff Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) to support tax filings, refiling and the creation of new tax IDs where required.
  • Attend to staff and directors’ tax-related enquiries and provide timely support in resolving tax matters.

Job Requirements

  • BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification or progress towards ICAN, ACCA, CITN or an equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in taxation, accounting, finance or a related function.
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation, statutory requirements and tax compliance processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to analyse and reconcile financial data.
  • Experience using SAP or other ERP systems would be an advantage.
