Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, organised, and reliable Cook to join a restaurant in Wuse 2, Abuja. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to the restaurant’s menu, maintaining food quality and consistency, and ensuring that all food preparation activities meet the required hygiene and safety standards.
The ideal candidate should have practical cooking experience, good time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a restaurant kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to the restaurant’s menu and recipes.
Ensure food is fresh, properly seasoned, well-presented, and served on time.
Maintain consistent food quality, taste, and portion sizes.
Prepare ingredients and organise the kitchen before service.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, cooking equipment, and work areas.
Follow food safety, storage, and handling procedures.
Monitor kitchen supplies and inform management when ingredients are running low.
Minimise food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
Ensure proper storage of raw and cooked food.
Work with other kitchen and restaurant staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow management instructions and maintain professional conduct at all times.
Requirements And Qualifications
Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant, hotel, or similar food service establishment.
Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen hygiene.
Ability to prepare meals consistently and efficiently.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be reliable, punctual, neat, and attentive to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff.
Relevant culinary training or certification is an advantage.
Work Schedule and Remuneration
Salary: ₦100,000 per month.
Work Pattern: One day on, one day off.
Working Days: Approximately 15 days per month.
Location: Wuse 2, Abuja.
