About 390

390 Technologies builds technology to improve the lives of Africans. We're currently focused on 390 Work, business management software that helps organisations manage operations and get everyday work done properly.

Businesses use 390 Work across sales, inventory, finance, purchasing, approvals, staff responsibilities and other connected activities.

We’re hiring a Senior Solutions Consultant to lead product demonstrations and help businesses understand how 390 Work fits into their operations.

The role

You’ll spend much of your time speaking with business owners, managers and their teams. You’ll learn how they currently work, what they want to improve, and how 390 can help.

For example, a business may come to us asking for better inventory tracking. Before opening the product, you should be able to ask how stock comes in, how sales are recorded, who makes adjustments and where discrepancies usually happen. That understanding should shape the demonstration.

We need someone who can follow an operational conversation, ask useful questions and explain software clearly. You should be comfortable answering detailed questions, checking what you don’t know and recognising when a requirement is outside the product’s capabilities.

You won’t be responsible for prospecting, contract negotiation or closing, and there is no sales quota. You'll also need to make a convincing case for 390 where it genuinely fits the customer’s needs.

This is also a hands-on position. You’ll conduct the demos yourself, prepare for customer conversations and help businesses get started.

What you'll do

  • Lead discovery calls to understand a business’s processes, challenges and reasons for considering 390.
  • Prepare and deliver demonstrations around the customer’s actual needs.
  • Explain how work would move through the system, including the people, records, approvals and handovers involved.
  • Help customers decide where to start and what they need to prepare before implementation.
  • Support onboarding and training so customers can put what they’ve seen into practice.
  • Keep clear notes on requirements, unanswered questions and agreed next steps.
  • Work with the product team to resolve questions and communicate gaps or recurring customer needs.
  • Improve our demo materials, examples and guidance as you learn what customers need help understanding.

What we're looking for

You should have at least five years of relevant experience in solutions consulting, business software implementation, business analysis, customer success or a closely related field.

More importantly, you must have personally led customer discovery conversations and live software demonstrations. We’ll ask you to walk us through specific examples.

You should be able to show that you have:

  • Demonstrated or implemented B2B software for business users.
  • Worked with operational processes such as purchasing, stock management, sales, expenses, approvals or service delivery.
  • Adapted a demonstration or implementation approach after learning more about a customer.
  • Explained unfamiliar software to people with different levels of technical confidence.
  • Helped users get started with a product or improve how they use it.
  • Taken responsibility for preparation, follow-up and customer communication without needing constant supervision.

Experience with ERP, CRM, inventory, accounting or workflow software would be particularly useful. You don’t need to have used 390 before, but you do need to be willing to learn the product in detail.

General administrative experience or lead-generation experience alone won’t be enough for this role. We’re looking for someone who understands a customer’s operations and can show them how software can support it.

How we'll assess candidates

Shortlisted candidates will complete a live discovery-and-demo exercise using a fictional business scenario. We’ll provide product materials and time to prepare.

The exercise will help us understand how you ask questions, choose what to demonstrate, explain a workflow and respond when something is unclear.

We’re interested in whether a business owner could leave your session understanding how they would use 390 and what to do next.
